Whereas the Kiskatoon River Valley is purely fictional, it is certainly influenced Southern Oregon, where I did part of my growing up in Jacksonville. It's also greatly inspired by by true and true-ish events that took place in Northern California's Siskiyou County, where I spent my formative--and where I now hang my hat!
